Out of the 110 million shoes that make their way to Australian shores each year, only 1% are collected and recycled after use. The shoes in landfills contaminate our environment by emitting chemicals into the soil and groundwater. Dyes release harmful heavy metals while soles decompose into chemicals like polyurethane. These shoe components take up to 1000 years to decompose in landfill.

Tarkine is taking responsibility for the lifecycle of running shoes. Customers are invited to return their shoes back to us. These shoes will then be recycled and made back into a multitude of useful products + you'll receive 20% off your next order.
