I have been keen to try them out, but had the flu. Finally I was feeling a bit better. So my first run I did was an easy 8km run to Palm cove along the beach path to bed them in a bit. Trail Devil 2 BUZZ have plenty of toe room and lock in firmly around the mid foot and heal. No pressure spots. I could have taken them straight out of the box and raced in them. The path was wet from recent rain and the grip on the concrete path and road was perfect.
My second run was to do a few hill repeats up Earl Hill track. Again along the road to Earl Hill was very comfortable.
Due to the rain the track had some mud. It's generally quite dry with rocks here and there. When I hit the dirt going up the hill I knew instantly these shoes were going to be good. They feel light, nimble and grippy. I was a little concerned about how loud the colours are. Because wearing colourful shoes does tend to have people looking at you. I didn’t care what they looked like after a few minutes heading up the track. I felt like they were made just for me. They can be bold. They are great and they work. Earl Hill isn’t a big hill but it has it all for training. Some quite steep sections to make your legs feel like you have lead shoes. The TD2 BUZZ danced up. There are a couple of long straight sections with just a slight grade where I was easily able to increase the pace because they are a fast shoe. You feel light footed and the rocker seems keen to propel you to open up and go for it.
The downhill is up to you. You can go has hard as you like. It’s just how quick you can skip. I could fly down. There is a lot of hairpin corners where you need a heap of grip. Up the top going down the steep side, there are lots of loose rocks and roots. I felt I had the sure footed feel of a mountain goat. I say grab a pair. Just not too many 41’s. That’s my size. 😅
Perfect shoe for my daily training, and long runs.
So comfy to run in and I stashed alllll my things for my long run - key, phone, gels - and didn't feel tight or heavy.
These are a 70th birthday gift for a lady who was probably the best Newcastle( NSW) cross country runner in her prime.
Still running despite difficult foot discomfort..
Hopefully, they do the trick and they look good also!
RE-RUN: Men's Tarkine Trail Devil 2 BUZZ: SPECIAL EDITION
So happy with both pairs. Not only have I saved money and got two for the price of one, I get to positively impact the environment. Thanks Tarkine, legends.
Have now done a couple of runs in these and they were very comfortable, even on uneven terrain.
Heel feels very secure, lots of shock absorbing through the sole.
The fit is great, it's my first pair of trail shoes so sizing up felt weird until I had to run downhill and my toes weren't getting bashed in the end of the shoe.
The Giant's arrived in pristine condition, I would not have been able to tell they were not new.
Highly recommend as an entry point for anyone looking for a well priced, quality pair of trail shoes
Comfortable, been wearing it for over a week
Love the wide toe base and the fun colours. They do really pop! And it’s an Australian brand.
The best for comfort
The best for price
The best for the environment
The best to recycle
Definitely the best shoes sport and leisure shoe
To be honest, I hesitated buying these. It felt like a crazy amount of money to drop on some socks when I already had some sitting at home. I was wrong.
I am now planning to buy other lengths so I can always have some form of these socks on, whether on a hike or in the office!
Do yourself a favour and get enough so you always have pair x
Nice fit and comfortable. Sizing seems spot on and great to run in. Also love the materials and colours.
The contours, the “6.7” - it’s all exquisitely put together
Great hat!
