I ordered another pair of shoes but there was a glitch in the system and didn’t have my size. They gave me the option to choose and swap with another one and I got the autopilot with sock and a hat. It was very kind of them.

I read the reviews and thought I’d support the ‘local’ brand, but WOW these shoes deliver. Physio said I had a “cranky” achilles and an ultrasound found a heel spur; so I was given specs for what I needed and a list of even more expensive shoes. When I went online I found the Tarkine Auto-Pilot that met the specs and ordered pairs in Sand and Jet Black (so I have one for shorts /white socks and a sneaky pair for the long commute when I have to front in-person). The luxury of having the RIGHT fit was great (half-size down on what I had but UP on the measure suggested was accurate) and the shoes out of box were as good as new. Straight away they felt supportive in the rights places, but road-bouncy. I’m now re-loading the feet on short runs that have been out of the realm of possibility in my “German Brand” runners since Easter - so about 6 months - and I can just wear them around the neighbourhood. Recommend = YES. Even without the dodgy the achilles, you should be in a pair of these. Also, read the bottom of the box and my review title will make to the middle-aged greenies out there.
